A sad day

"On Friday an 17 year old driver lost control of his car on the wet road and slide from side to side before mounting the footpath and hitting two young boys who were walking with their mother on Linwood Ave in Christchurch. The four year old boy died and the six year old boy ended up with multiple fractions in hospital" the news said.
Than we got a phone call The little boys are the sons of a beloved teacher at my childrens school. The school community is in shock and our thoughts are with the family.

A little star stopped shining last night
the gloomy darkness weighs heavenly
upon a a family, listening to the
screaming absence of a little voice

Let our thoughts be with them
Let our love bandage their bleeding hearts
Let the moon call upon all stars
to bundle their lights in memory of
a little star that stopped shining last night

  7. Kia ora Marja,
My heart goes out to all those people, including the young boy in the car whom made a stupid studid decision that has changed his life and so many lives forever. As the parent of a teen ager who doesn't quite fit in I spend every weekend worrying about his safety, and thanking God he doesn't drive. We forget these kids can also hurt others. And as the parent of a little boy as well my heart aches for the loss these people have to deal with. I want to go hug both my boys and just hold them close. Kia kaha Marja, to you and especially to this family.
    Aroha,
    Robb

  9. Such a sad post Marja.
A little star definitely stopped shining last night.
The school community will certainly need to rally behind and be there for that teacher.

  10. Thanks all It is certainly the worst nightmare of a parent. I went to the school today and lots of students parents and teachers came along to leave behind wishes
and flowers. The parents don't leave the side of their 6 year old
who's condition is stable but is stil in a bad condition.

Robb yes I agree with you. The family of the teenager is equally devastated. Young people stil have to learn so much and in this case there is a very high price to pay

  11. Too tragic to bear thinking about. Linwood Ave was the scene of a horrible car accident for me, which almost killed me.

Sorry for the absence, but my computer broke down and I’ll be waiting a month for it to be fixed… ;-( Anyhow, I left you a post on the suburbs of Ephesus for you to enjoy. Have a great week!!
