Condoleances

Picture from here
29 men died after a second explosion struck the Pike river coal mine, near Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island of NZ today. One was only a teenager and was for his first day in the mine. A 25 year old scotsman was going to marry in december. They all have a story They all had a life and grief has struck as they all will be missed very much.
This is a tragic day and our deepest sympathies, goes out to the family and friends of the miners. Thoughts and prayers of all of us here in Christchurch will be with the people on the West Coast.

  3. Dear Marja,

I couldn't stop crying. Can you imagine how the mothers are crying, if I who is not related to them cried.

  7. I am so sorry. It is truly a great tragedy and its impact will be even greater in such a small community. And while remember those who tragically lost their lives, it is of greater importance at this moment to offer care and support for those loved ones left behind.

  8. Devastating news! I have been following the events here in Australia! Almost at the point I can't watch the stream of grieving families!

May they find some strength together!

    Namaste to all!

  11. So tragic. I feel for them. I do wish though that the news coverage would tone it down a bit. Let the families grieve now. They know that the whole country is thinking of them.
