Kia Kaha

“Kia kaha” are the words with which Prins William of Wales ended his speech at the memorial service held in Hagley Park in Christchurch today. Kia kaha, be strong. I followed it on TV, but in spirit I was one with the ten thousands of people coming together.

Coming together for support, grief, to gather strength in the brotherhood of all.
Coming together to pay their respect for people who lost their lives
Coming together to pray for the people of Christchurch and the people of Japan
Coming together to honour and applaud, the search and rescue team, the disaster relief team, the fire service, the police, the student volunteer army, the farmy army and many others.

Today there were tears of grief. Prins William said in his speech “Grief is the price we pay for love”

All representatives from Christianity, the Jewish, the Buddhists the Islam, Hindi and Bahia said their prayer and united for this memorial. All faces of the world were one in Christchurch

From today we will move forwards, stand tall, armed with the unbreakable strength we create by holding each other’s hands. Kia Kaha Be strong.

Lots of love for all, marja

  1. There is so much to pray over and for. So much, that even if we prayed endlessly, it would not be enough. So we pray. And then we pray again. Never do we lose faith.

  10. Pictures of this moving ceremony were shown the world over. Nothing will ever erase the memory of this tragic event from the lives of those who witnessed it, but at least you know that you are all in our hearts and prayers.
