Spencerville park

Today I had a coffee and cake with some old friends as two of them recently had their birthday as well. After that me and a young friend had a peaceful walk in Spencerville Park. A park with forest, swamp, beach and more. We had a wonderful time and the weather was gorgeous. Spring is on its way. Yippee.
After that I drove through Brighton and stopped at the beach. I haven't been to Brighton Beach for a long time because of the earth quake. Except for a couple of shops being closed in Brighton everything looks like normal again.
They even had fun with some kites on the beach. On the backgound you see the hills which were badly affected by the quake because of falling rocks.
A place where it isn't peaceful is New York as an enormous hurricane is on its way and 750.000 will have to be evacuated. That's nearly twice the population of Christchurch. I am thinking about the people of New York and hope for the best. Take care and Kia Kaha. The weather all over the world is is getting more weird and extreme.

  1. New York will be fine, they are tough people. In fact they are so tough I actually worried about the hurricane.

  2. Weird and extreme perfectly describes the world and its weather. So glad you had a chance to relax and visit with friends … sounds like the day felt as light as the kites in your beautiful photo. Also, congratulations on your milestone birthday, bridging your past to your future! Since fifty is the new forty … you are still a kid, Marja. :)

  4. Beautiful photos, Marja, and I'm so happy for you that Spring is coming. Our short Summer will end soon and then Fall so we will swap! My daughter believes the Seasons are shifting and I tend to agree. Take Care!

  6. Your assortment of photos brings a certain calm to me. They are always so beautiful! Yes, NYC will mostly be wet with some flooding I think. And you are SO correct... weird weather. Like the planet is speaking.

  7. Hi Marja. What a lovely park. I love the gentle curve of the walkway going over the water. The concrete pier in Brighton is so inviting. And the kites are spectacular. I've never seen any that look like they do.

Is that a new profile picture I see? I like!!

  11. Prachtige foto's Marja. Ja overal in de wereld gebeuren natuurrampen die veel leed veroorzaken. Laten we dankbaar zijn als we er voor worden gespaard.
