Raging waves

I briefly appear  to show you these spectacular waves in Birdling's flat.  A present from the universe we received when we went out for the first time since my husband had his operation. They took a part of his colon to take away a cancerous tumor. We don't know yet if it has spread and have to wait another week for that. It's like a tidal wave has come over our lives but we go with the flow and my husband is amazing. He is recovering well and is so positive. Even now he is my rock in the breaking waves. Fingers crossed for the next step.

It is easy to believe we are each waves and easy to forget, we are also the ocean Jon J Muth

Ocean
By Mary Oliver

I am in love with Ocean
lifting her thousands of white hats
in the chop of the storm,
or lying smooth and blue, the
loveliest bed in the world.
In the personal life, there is
always grief more than enough,
a heart load for each of us
on the dusty road. I suppose
there is a reason for this, so I will be
patient, acquiescent. But I will live
nowhere except here, by Ocean, trusting
equally in all blast and welcome
of her sorrowless, salt self.

You never really know what's coming. A small wave, or maybe a big one. All you can really do is hope that when it comes, you can surf over it, instead of drown in its monstrosity.  Alisha Spear

Viginia Woolf The Waves

The waves broke and spread their waters swiftly over the shore. One after another they massed themselves and fell; the spray tossed itself back with the energy of their fall. The waves were steeped deep-blue save for a pattern of diamond-pointed light on their backs which rippled as the backs of great horses ripple with muscles as they move. The waves fell; withdrew and fell again, like the thud of a great beast stamping.

Half of me is filled with bursting words and half of me is painfully shy. I crave solitude yet also crave people. I want to pour life and love into everything yet also nurture my self-care and go gently. I want to live within the rush of primal, intuitive decision, yet also wish to sit and contemplate. This is the messiness of life - that we all carry multitudes, so must sit with the shifts. We are complicated creatures, and ultimately, the balance comes from this understanding. Be water. Flowing, flexible and soft. Subtly powerful and open. Wild and serene. Able to accept all changes, yet still led by the pull of steady tides. It is enough.”

Victoria Erickson

“We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch – we are going back from whence we came…” John F. Kennedy

In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans. Kahlil Gibran

I want to run the beach’s length, because it never ends. Deborah Ager

When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused. Rainer Maria Rilke

I mark my turmoil in
 smashing waves washing ashore
Calmness unveils while watching
 the raging wildness
