Lake Wanaka

Photo Arnoud van Tilburg

Still winter here. Not much sunshine. Hopefully we get plenty in Summer. I booked a cabin on the camping near lake Wanaka for 10 days in January. Lake Wanaka is towards the South of the South island and is the 4th biggest lake in New Zealand. The name Wanaka comes from Oanaka. This is Maori for "place of Anaka", who was a local Maori chief. I am excited to visit Anaka's place and will tell you all about it when the time comes. For now we have to spent time inside. Maybe on the computer for a change? I did some armchair traveling on google earth. That was fun. You go to a country, zoom in and click on the blue spots. A photo appears from that particular spot. We can't zoom in to close. We need a better graphic card for that. Anyway, this week I want to share with you some of my favourite websites. The Dutch people might save them for the winter and enjoy the last part of their summer. (hopefully with a bit more sunshine than the first part) I hope you all had a good holiday. Talking about Dutch people. One very nice one, Arnoud van Tilburg, gave me permission to use his beautiful pictures of New Zealand and you will see more of them in the future.

You can copy photo's here as long as you mention their name:

Magazines, newspapers , search engines and lots and lots of other links

Very interesting educational sites:

A Dutch side were we watch the Dutch news sometimes and one with tv from all over the globe.

And to have a laugh to end with:
Enjoy your day , Marja

  1. Hello Marja! I hope you're having a fine day! I went through these links and upon doing so I found their content to be of great interest. So, I have added them to my blog and I hope that you don't mind.

If this should not be the case, then I'll remove them at your request. I noticed you paid me a visit today and I want to thank you. I've only started spreading myself out across the miles as I'm still in the process of getting my blogs all in order. My main venture is to make them interactive and interesting.

The next time you venture over to NY to visit Ambre, would you please sign my guest book? I've installed a blinking sign and everything, but to no avail. I guess the masses are missing it! (giggles)

Thanks and I'm waiting for your next post!

  2. Ambre it is there to share here and everywhere. Love Marja I will visit you soon.
