Johannes Vermeer
I recently saw this movy and loved it. It is about Johannes Vermeer, the Dutch painter painting the girl with the pearl earring, the beautiful painting above. Sometimes called the Dutch Mona Lisa. It is filmed in the centre of Delft. I walked around there a lot. My brother lived there for a while in a student house. I think I am a bit homesick at the moment.
Wat een prachtig schilderij. Ik hoop dat ik de film ook eens kan bekijken.
ReplyDeleteThis painting is really wonderful.
That is a wonderful painting. It seems to glow with life.
ReplyDeleteCome here I'll give ya a hug!
ReplyDeleteMy all time favourite film! I play it time and time again. But have you read the book? There is so much more to the story than that portrayed in the movie. I highly recommend you grab a copy.
ReplyDeleteGosh, Marja. I didn't know what language that was. Didn't do any better trying to follow the sub-titles either!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very touching movie. And Vermeer is quite a painter.
ReplyDeleteMarja, I love the Vermeer. I saw some of his paintings a year ago while at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and was blown away to be standing so near the canvases.
ReplyDeleteVermeer's work is so real. I was struck with the life he could bring to life.
ReplyDeleteI read the book back about when the movie came out. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteI understand homesickness..., no fun. The painting is beautiful of course. My sister went to art college for four years and I'm seen this paintings photo many times because sometimes her exercise was to try to copy the great artists.
ReplyDeleteThe answer to the riddle was an eye of course, lol.
A beautiful painting, not familiar with it but I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Erik het is echt de moeite waard. Je kunt hem bij de videoshop krijgen denk ik
