The girl effect

Do you know about the girl effect. I learned about it recently. I learned that girls can alter the economy of their country. That girls in the developing world can make a huge contribution to their families and their community and we can help them to do that. We can help them and they will do the rest.  My hope is that many in the world will learn about the strength of a woman and will learn to understand how valuable she is. Watch this video and learn about the girl effect. Learn about when you effect one girls life you will create a ripple effect. That means you will not help one but many. Think about it how you can help them change the world.

Factsheet about the girl effect Check out the statistical facts wich will show you why women can improve their world. For example
Fact :When women and girls earn income, they reinvest 90 percent of it into their families, as compared to only 30 to 40 percent for a man.

  1. This reminds me so much of the movie "Pay It Forward"! Lots of positive "feel good" stuff showing that one person can make a difference on a grand scale!

  2. A powerful message here, Marja. as the mother if four girls, I can only agree.

How can we bring the men along? We need both, the boys and the girls, neither excluded.

This clip is a good start because for too long and even now in many places the girls are still excluded, no girl effect.

Eventually hopefully we will have both.

  3. Thanks for visiting my journal. My daughter is in Kaiapoi, are you near. I've been over 3 times, this is the first time she has been 'home'.

I like the ripple effect too.

  4. The Girl Effect would be a blessing for all women in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi- Arabia, Iraq, Indonesia, Morocco, Egypt, Gaza, Libya and most of all in Iran, then also in many countries in Africa and so on and so on. There's a lot to do to change the World. They have my blessing.

  5. Great post! Nice to see some real and positive change in the world.
