Sun rays, enlighten
creating a glowing golden crown
of a sun flower towering
above little plants far down
This shiny yellow shuttle
Sits proudly on the top
resting in peace on its stem
holding it's glorious head up
Sun flowers dancing
in harmony together
Rocking on a lullaby
waving in windy weather
in harmony together
Rocking on a lullaby
waving in windy weather
Isn't the world a feast
doesn't beauty give you power
especially when your garden is covered
with that magical sunflower
doesn't beauty give you power
especially when your garden is covered
with that magical sunflower
Hi Marja .. fantastic photos - with some beautiful words .. sunflowers are magical as you say ..
ReplyDeleteCheered my Saturday morning with its own sunflower sun! Hilary
Delightful photos and lovely words.
ReplyDeleteHi Marja! Sorry for the absence, but time has been at a premium here... ;)
ReplyDeleteFabulous shots!!
I hope things are getting better in Christchurch! I heard that that the cathedral is going to be demolished to a certain extent. What a pity...
Blogtrotter Two has reached April 2011; no trips, and posting delay is shortening... ;). Enjoy and have a great weekend!!!
Zonnebloemen, prachtige foto's en je schrijft gedichten, in het Engels, heel mooi.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular, Marja. Can't wait for sunflowers to appear again in my world. Winter has been so mild, I hope they arrive early.
ReplyDeleteI seriously love the first photo, especially. It is like a bowl of sunlight being offered up to God.
What a moving description of a flower that has always captured my imagination, too, Marja! The photos are all beautiful but the top one shows so well the “glowing golden crown” you write about. There truly is a majestic quality to this flower that stands tall above the rest. I wonder if these are in your garden. It is far too early in my part of the world for such sightings. :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my grandfather's neighbors grew sunflowers in his backyard. They always a fascinated me, and in fact when I was very small I thought they moved around while watching me play.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem and images Marja, and they brighten up my day as the rain pours down outside. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteTheses photos are fantastic. Keep on clicking.
