Are you lost ?

The prompt for writers island is The Key. The prompt for my very first poem was the key. I wrote a new one with the same essence. To find more keys go to writers island

Are you lost my friend?
by Marja Blom

Are you lost my friend?
Are you lost?
Let the key of who you want to be
open the palace of your heart
throw off the coat of pretending past
let the truth reveal what's real

Are you lost my friend?
Are you lost?
For the real you a gown was made
try it, it's awkwardness will fade
as the perfect fit will give
a sense of glee of being free

Are you lost my friend?
Are you lost?
The golden texture of your gown
throws light onto your well paved path
Make trust your buddy, trust me
that greatness is your destiny

  3. Kia ora Marja,
Been enjoying your poetic efforts. This one really hits me in regards to thoughts I am having about turning 50, dealing with this new hip, my past, my future. I guess good poems should make us stop and think, so well done my friend! Rave on.

  6. The question he, are you lost, is so powerful Marja, it welcomes all that flows. How clever you are to use the key prompt in this way. When we lose our keys we may as well be lost.

  10. This spoke to me in a deeply personal way, Marja. I wrote this week about finding the key to our source. Your poem tells the same story.
