My friend Julie

Last week I catched up with some old friends and one of them was Julie. I hang out at the art centre on Saturday morning where Julie had an exhibition. Julie is a sculpture and her passion is the ocean. Julie has organised the New Brighton Water festival and was involved in many other projects to promote the ocean which is important to all of us as 50% of the world's oxygen is produced by the plankton in the ocean.

We met each other because our daughters were friends. Because Julie lives near the ocean we had many beach walks together and lunches in her lovely garden. I am looking so forwards to the summer to go to the beach again. But first delightful spring is coming. The Cherri blossom is already out and it is such a treat.

More of Julie's work I have a bunch of  her beautiful flowers made out of flax in a vase at home.

  1. Julie's sculptures have a magical flow of line! Delightful work!

  2. What beautiful sculptures. We can see well that she is inspired by the sea! Very creative! Thanks for your visit!

  3. She is indeed a wonderful sculpturer. She must be a person with very strong imagination and passion for arts. Thanks for sharing with us Marja.

  5. Hey kiddo, it's so nice to stop by and get caught up on what's been going on with you.

I started working and have been preoccupied with my son and helping him along.

This is a lovely post. Love the art and I'm jealous of your closeness to the ocean :)

Would be lovely to meet up with all the blogging friends and share some moments on your beach.

Take care Marja. Much love from my corner of the world to yours.

  7. Juie brings a graceful and delicate touch to her work. I like it very much.

  8. Hello Marja
Sorry I have taken so long to visit you....but here I am now!
Julie is an excellent sculpturer. I love the ocean too and will spend many hours this summer down at the beach swimming and watching the waves.

Hope you find the time to read and enjoy the Spring weather which is nearly upon us....a comfy chair and glass of wine is beckoning you!

    Take care and big hugs.
