My son loves philosophy. I think it is great that they teach that at school. Philosophy is a search for wisdom by means of critical and comprehensive thinking. Wouldn't that be good for all of us. My sons favourite philosopher is Bertrand Russell and I liked this quote.
Good one Marja. My kids dont appreciate philosophy so much yet....though I love them as it gives meaning to life. This is a simple yet a good read. Hugs..MK
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely an interesting course to take. I find the education system failing in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote, too, Marja! Perhaps we don’t even recognize happiness at times and it can be illusive and a byproduct of living a helpful and positive life. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat quote, sort of reminds me of the one about happiness being a journey and not a destination.
ReplyDeleteVery fortunate that he can study in in high school. That doesn't happen here much in California though it DID when I was in school way back when. Good quote.
ReplyDeleteHi Marja .. so pleased to hear your son is getting such a varied education .. and he loves philosophy .. I could have done with learning that! Cheers - love the picture and the quote - he has good taste .. thanks Hilary

ReplyDeleteYes philosophy is good for expanding the mind, even if some of the concepts are difficult to get to grips with! You have updated your blog - it looks very professional!
ReplyDeleteyes very true..thats the case... and who could dispute the wisdom of b.russel :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Both the quote and the pic... not to mention that it is great that your son gets to study philosophy at school!
