Mural Canterbury College and Rutherford

For Monday Murals by Sami

These two are part of the same mural. The mural was a collaboration between Dcypher/XL Street Murals, Jacob Yikes and IkarusDTR Crew.

On the first picture you see Canterbury College, which is now the Art Center.

On the second you see Nobel Laureate, Ernest Rutherford who studied at Canterbury College in the 1890's. He discovered the atomic structure.
Rutherford won the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1908 and became the first person to split the atom in 1917

The mural is located on 186 Tuam Street in Christchurch city

  1. Interesting murals. Rutherford is well-known for his discoveries. The Nobel Prize website says he won in 1908.
