The hanging man by David Cerny is a statue of Sigmund Freud hanging from a building in the old town. Sigmund Freud was born in Moravia in the Chech Republic
Two bronze sculptures in front of the Franz Kafka museum. The men pee on the map of Chech republic The water stream writes quotes in the water of famous Prague people Miminka, local for Baby, by David Cerny. This is one of the giant babies on Kampa island. The baby has a barcode on his face as an imprint of the modern child. Many of these babies crawl up the Prague TV Tower
At the right you see a glimpse of the Dancing House, also called Fred and Ginger by the people of Prague.You can actually see see a couple dancing together It is an example of deconstuctivist architecture It is designed by Chech architect Vlado Milunic together with Canadian architect Frank Gehry.

Freud must have had a terrible nightmare. Great pictures Marja! I think that Prague is a very beautiful city.

ReplyDeleteFrank Gehry has most recently re-designed the Art Gallery of Ontario which we took in when we visited in March. Stunning glass front that provides beautiful natural light and a free standing spiral staircase that is gorgeous.
My God, this man is prolific in his creativity. I would love to see his design in Prague.

ReplyDeletePrague is an enchanting city. I spent a week or so there last year. Did you see the amazing group of statues erected in memory of those lost when the country was under communist rule? It shows the gradual breaking down of man and I found it very moving.Clicking on my name should - in theory - take you there
