One of my blogging friends is Missy. By that name I got to know her but she has many names. Missy is the one who found my blog about 2 years ago while I was just a beginner and wasn't even aware I could communicate with other bloggers. I always loved her poetry. For a while I missed her because she has been doing a lot of work on Helium but she is blogging again at
Dear Missy,
I ask the stars to shine on you
because in writing you transcend
The stars will than soon realise
that you are one of them my friend
I must say Missy doesn't only transcend in writing but also in kindness. That's probably her secret. It shines through. Underneath you find one of her great poems wonderful presented by a fan of hers. The poem "What is the color of my skin" goes of course in my treasure box
This is a very beautiful, truthful video! Thank you for sharing! That's why it was not difficult for me to vote yesterday. Even if I didn't know the people myself, I knew which people belong to a party which I always vote for. In any case not the racist party of Geert Wilders.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem Marja..have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, Marja !!
ReplyDeleteI love this video and the poem.
There is so much truth in it. I think this world would be a far more peaceful place, if we looked at what was within and not at what was on the outside..
Thank-you for sharing! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love MIssy too. If it wasn't for her, I would never have found your blog.
ReplyDeleteMissy is an inspiration to us all. A true friend who is always there to encourage us when our muse wanders off and ever there to praise us when we have doubts about our work. Most of the original gang of Heliumites have left the site now, but I know just how hard she works to keep the flag flying. When I thought about starting Carry On Tuesday she was the first person I went to with my idea, and I'm so glad I did. I can't tell you how thrilled I always am when I get a call from her on IM. I have one ambition above all others and that is to one day meet my beautiful friend Melissa R Bickell!
ReplyDeleteThat's a powerful clip, but how sad that it's still needed 45 years on from Rosa Parks.
ReplyDeleteKia ora Marja,
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful poetry and very emotive clip. It doesn't take much for us to impact the world and make us think, only small actions can make a huge difference. Thank you Marja, and thank you to your very talented and thoughtful friend
Missy. You have made my day! Kia kaha.
