Reflections in the flooded paddocks at Sparks Road
in Christchurch
Sparkles stalk ripples on water
A smooth sapphire blanket
clothing the earth
Mirroring its surroundings
a slice of stillness
after raging rain ruled
Playing at the lake in Hagley park
We spend some time looking at the remote controlled airplane gliding on the water and the beautiful boats

ReplyDeleteI have seen flooding in many parts of the world and it creates such destruction. I hope the flooding where you live are over. I read about your trip to Tonga – what a beautiful place! And also about your husband’s health. I am pleased that he will be OK. Thanks for coming to my blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection picture, you have a nice blog.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Filip
Beautiful pictures Marja. I love how the reflections appear and mirror the sky and the mountains.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, very nice colors and reflections!
ReplyDeleteGoede avond, Marja.
ReplyDeleteMijn Nederlands mogen niet goed zijn, maar uw fotografie is fantastisch! Waar ik alleen maar kou en nattigheid kan zien, zie je schoonheid.

The flooding has been so spectacular, and you have found the beauty in it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and great poetry.
ReplyDeleteThose first two images are just amazing ....the way you have given equal emphasis the hill and the reflection...very beautiful and clever .... despite it being about a troublesome situation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit:)
Wonderful photos Marja, and yes the rain is much needed in moderation. But when we get it day after day it can cause so much damage not only in floods and loss of life.. But in ruining the crops in the fields too..
ReplyDeleteAnd yet Water and its reflections are so beautiful.. ..
Thank you for sharing... And loved the poem.. xxxx Sue xxxx
Lovely reflections in pictures and poem for a not so lovely event. The toy plane and boat scenes are mellow and there is something timeless looking about the children by the water.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and poem of a not good event!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good thing when you can make a miserable thing in your life into something beautiful like your photos. The reflections shots are just gorgeous!
