Prompt War and peace for Poetry United
Sometimes a war is going on inside me. I ask
myself why do I want to write when I only owe simple words. Won’t I need sophistication
to build a castle. Then I get over myself and with the labour of love I lay one
word next to the other to craft a simple poem, while having fun like a child
lost in play. No, I didn’t build a castle but I did receive peace.
On the day, you awaken
On the day, you awaken
You open your heart,
You see the tears trickle, leaving a trail in
the dust
You see the blood gushing, from a wounded soul
You feel the pounding pain of a child, a man, a
world
at war and offer them
Your heart, your love, your light
You Let your inner poet weave words of wisdom
You Let your inner voice sing a song of solidarity
You Let your inner artist paint a picture of peace
Weave, sing, paint,
with a passion
Draw a dream in the clouds
Fill it with hope
To free the souls trapped
by the weight of the earth
On the day, you awaken
You walk with your back straightened
Proud and aweless you dare to forgive
Dare to see the fear behind the wall of hate
Dare to see the longing for love,
behind the doors of difference
Fiercely you open the door
to stop the hurt, to start the healing
You have become a warrior of light
and shine with softness
and shine with softness
each ray conquering darkness
till peace is born from the womb of the night
on that day heaven will be brought into being
Hi Marja - it must be so wonderful to be able to write like this - it is well done ... love how you craft your words together to paint your picture ... it is a way to puzzle some time ... to enjoy these few minutes, or hours, or mull as one walks ... lovely - loved this part:
ReplyDelete"Weave, sing, paint,
with a passion
Draw a dream in the clouds
Fill it with hope
To free the souls trapped
by the weight of the earth"
So many trapped in their own worlds ... some of us can let our minds go free ... well done - cheers HIlary
Thanks a lot Hilary
DeleteSuch a beautiful profound poem that spoke deeply to my soul Marja..I am delighted you enjoyed writing this and it brought you Peace also..
ReplyDeleteI love to Sing, paint and Dream in the clouds my friend.. I know many now are awakening to the LIGHT and are opening up their hearts to free the trapped souls who have been weighed down for so long upon this linear path of the material Earth. As we make our shifts in consciousness..
A most beautiful poem Marja.. Excellent in fact.
Love and Blessings dear friend..
Love Sue <3 <3
Thanks you so much Sue. I am always being inspired by you :)
DeleteOn the day you awaken and face reality, you wish to change the bad part of it : pain, blood, hate - and turn it into: love, light, solidarity. This can be done by using the heart, creative talent, feelings such as forgiveness, openness.
ReplyDeleteThe imagery of healing in your poem is very moving!
Thanks :) There is a lot of healing to be done. If we all could do just one act of kindness each day the world would already be a different place
DeleteThis is amazing writing. I marvel how you can do it so well when English isn't your mother tongue.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane Thank you :) I am already 20 years in New Zealand though
DeleteExtremely well done. There are secrets being kept from us. The end of war is coming (unfortunately not soon). Keep up the faith and thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Martin :) I hope you are right I would love to still experience it in my lifetime
DeleteNicely done! Yeah, I'm not trying to do anything with my own writing but to achieve some type of peace.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beach I think writing is a type of therapy and healing in itself
DeleteOne of your commenters mentioned a shift in consciousness, which to me describes beautifully how your poem flows to its conclusion. These are difficult times in the world and we run to our separate corners but your words show how creativity and goodwill can be transcending.
ReplyDeleteHi Maria Yes I do believe we are growing towards a shift in consciousness and I am pleased to have given a little hope
DeleteMarja, your poem is on a different level from any other I have read for ages. I admire the possitive stance you have taken. War will not end in our lifetimes, but we can only hope it eventually does for the sake of our children and our children's children. We should all strive to be warriors of light.
ReplyDeleteI agree I feel sorry for our children. If we were all warriors of light our life world would shift. Take care my friend
DeleteBeautiful poem Marja! One can actually feel the despair and the sense that there are no winners in a war. It's good that you are optimistic enough to give hope.Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Will We need hope
DeleteQuite passionately wonderful! To allow and to dare are complementary actions. I believe that to "dare to forgive" is a great key to the door of a peace warrior. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Love and peace to you!
DeleteThis is wonderfully and powerfully done. Full of wisdom and truth. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry Aroha
DeleteLuv the inner artistry we need use to create the hope and produce then the peace
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by to read mine Marja

ReplyDeleteElizabeth
A great healing agent Thanks :)
DeleteThis is a beautiful poem. I love its simplicity that is so profound. How wonderful that you play with words and feel peace. In essence we must create heaven on earth.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! we can create that if we put our minds to it :)
Delete"a warrior of light
ReplyDeleteand shine with softness
each ray conquering darkness"....The lines hold an amazing image of the Dawn of Peace. Though I quoted only these lines all the lines are my favorite. Thank you.
Thank you and bless you
DeleteWeave, sing, paint,

thanks so much my dear friend. I learn a lot from you. I still make many mistakes but keep on learning :)
DeleteNext year you have to come over.
Me and Celia have a hugging session in August. still have to put it online.
When we stop making mistakes we stop learning and growing as long as we don't make the same mistake over and over.
DeleteBeing lightworkers and encouraging and supporting each other it makes for a wonderful journey.
I will definitely "cross the ditch" next year and look forward to having more adventures with you my friend.
I am sure you will enjoy giving out free hugs in August, hope it is a fine day.
Take care
