Luxurious

Shared with Poets and Storytellers United Prompt: Something that feels luxurious

Shared with dVerse OpenLinkNight 400

Luxurious

Luxurious tends to live
in a cold atmosphere,
surface glitter.

But underneath
there is an ocean of air,
life giving,
life expanding.

Breathe.

There is a heart that beats
to the rhythm of excitement.

Aliveness rises
when the mind aligns
with the universe.

What sways in the ether
is a luxury.
The ether carries light
to reveal unspoken words,
the quiet quality of pearls.

Words can redirect energy.
They can alter reality
as they slowly alchemise the mind
of those who open their hearts.

So spread yours.
Words filled with truth,
love, honesty, peace.

Sing them.
Speak them.
Tell stories
to spread wealth.

  3. Marja, I'm reading a book right now on purposeful prayer. Your poem made me think of it. My favorite part of yours:
    "Words can redirect energy.
    They can alter reality
as they slowly alchemise the mind
of those who open their hearts."

  4. Your words are meditative and conjure hope through words.

  5. Perfect! I so agree that

    Aliveness rises
    when the mind aligns
    with the universe.

    and

    Words can redirect energy.
    They can alter reality
as they slowly alchemise the mind
of those who open their hearts.

    So spread yours.
    Words filled with truth,
    love, honesty, peace.

  8. I love "Words can redirect energy/They can alter reality", although perhaps reality is what it is and only our perception or understanding of it changes.

  9. We poets must be the richest people on earth, Marja! I love these lines especially:
    ‘The ether carries light
    to reveal unspoken words,
    the quiet quality of pearls’
    and
    ‘Words…can alter reality
as they slowly alchemise the mind
of those who open their hearts.’

  16. Glad you analyzed, to an extent the calling and making of a luxury. I searched for a picture of a 1969 Ford Thunderbird car like the one I had in 1970. That car was my to be luxury. But instead I had my goofy waking up poem.

  17. Love, peace and joy are a necessary luxury, and words do really have the power to bring it. So aptly implied in your poem

  18. Spread the wealth. I think I will! Love this. Beautiful imagery and turn of a phrase. I think the best part about poetry is the underlying current of emotion and I came away from this feeling peaceful and encouraged.
