About Me
Hello, and welcome.
I'm Marja, a retired wanderer of paths both literal and metaphorical. I live in New Zealand, where I spend my time writing poetry, exploring ideas, walking in nature.
I have a long-standing fascination with the human mind, consciousness, psychology, philosophy, and the many ways people make meaning of their lives. Curiosity has been one of the most reliable companions on my journey. The older I get, the less interested I become in certainty and the more interested I become in exploration.
Poetry is one of the ways I make sense of the world. Sometimes a poem arrives after plain hard work, sometimes as a question, and sometimes as a surprise. I write to discover what I think as much as to express what I already know.
I am also interested in connection: the small acts of kindness that ripple outward, the stories people share, and the conversations that help us see life from a slightly different angle. Whether discussing neuroscience, a walk through the Port Hills in Christchurch, a fleeting moment of beauty, or an unexpected insight, I believe there is value in paying attention.
This blog is a collection of reflections, poems, questions, observations, and occasional rabbit holes. I don't claim to have answers. I'm simply exploring, learning, and sharing what I find along the way.
Thank you for stopping by.
Feel free to wander, I certainly do 😊
