Sumner II

Sumner is like a little town with a few shops. The one above here is like a piece of art. There is also a cinema and some good restaurants.
Sumner is a few degrees warmer than the rest of Christchurch and you find here lots of palm trees and other beautiful ones. I found this one very nice. Anybody knows what this is?
Underneath just one of the pretty decorations in Sumner.

  7. Love those pictures!
I think the tree you featured is an Australian Native called a Banksia. They have those odd crusty looking seed pods, which need a good fire to make them germinate.

  10. I want you to know that I was here when you first posted this and before anyone posted I was trying to find out the name of that tree. I searched all trees in New Zealand and came up empty handed!
