A Kiss from the Count
“Drift into my dream of love,” he whispers,
gazing into eyes so innocent,
reflecting an enchanting gentleman
guiding her to a place where the sky
is cushioned with silver clouds,
above lupine-lined, milky roads
mysterious, mesmerizing.
On this passage to paradise,
he wraps her in charm,
leans forward gently,
sealing her opal neck with his lips.
Fingertips slide softly down her silky skin
her swelling lust crashes,
red velvet drops
merging into a riverbed,
meandering along her body.
Oh dear! Dracula is back is he? Hopefully that has sated his hunger for a bit.
ReplyDeletesure is lol
DeleteOh dear...misplaced lust can very well become self destructive...
ReplyDeleteEspecially when dracula is there
DeleteEven the riverbed got its wee offering...
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of Leon Cohen "Forget your perfect offereing..." :)
DeleteI am borrowing your words to describe my feeling about this amazing poem: mysteriously mesmerising. Absolutely breathtaking. So nice to see you today Marja.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sumana
DeleteWhat would a lustful prompt be without the Count and the melodrama of his story?
ReplyDeleteJust my thought haha
DeleteLust has claimed so many lives & many have meandered...

DeleteMarja, how nice to see you! You paint this scene so vividly I can see it. I especially love your first stanza. Those lupine lined milky roads.

I think the alliteration made it feel real, as if I was there. Wonderful!
