Poetry prompt reclaim rekindle rebirth for Poets and story tellers united
A Flame
I lay down
my old year’s baggage
heavy, worn, fading.
I craft a makeover
of my mind,
feeling reborn,
reclaiming my life.
A flame flickers,
hesitant at first,
then bursts
a flash of the dance of life.
Fragile, fierce,
it flares, fades,
rekindles,
pirouetting in the quiet dark.
I nurture this flame,
this silent poetry,
swift sparks spinning
passion purified in light.
It illuminates me.
I carry it forward;
it will carry me
through the new year,
through every unfolding moment.
Marja, you had a right idea right at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteWill the flame need nourishing all the new year?
I'm reading as if once it gets going good it will
keep on burning.
..
That would be great Jim I have a feeling though that if you don't watch it, it might die down :)
