Poetry prompt reclaim rekindle rebirth for Poets and story tellers united
A Flame
I Laid off
my old year’s baggage
It weighed me down
It wore me out
I master a make-over
of my mind
Feeling reborn
I reclaim my life
A flame lights up
hesitant at first
Revealing a flash
of the dance of life
It flares up
fragile but fierce
It dies down and rekindles
I nurse this flame
this silent poetry
swift pirouetting spikes
passion purified
It enlightens me
I carry it forwards
It will carry me
through this new year
Marja, you had a right idea right at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteWill the flame need nourishing all the new year?
I'm reading as if once it gets going good it will
keep on burning.
..
That would be great Jim I have a feeling though that if you don't watch it, it might die down :)
Deletepassion purified and silent poetry... that really is a grand rekindling!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! May the dancing flame of your inner poetry find new music and more glorious words!

ReplyDeleteI love that this reads like guided meditation. The tone is enthralling and catching, and the message is one I can certainly get behind. I'm all for things that can carry me forward.
ReplyDeleteLove the images and idea of lighting a flame for the new year! Oh, what we can do with that spark.
