Magaly from Poets and storytellers united invited us to the prompt 'writing love letters to wildflowers'. I took it literally this time :)
A Love Letter to Wildflowers
The field is painted with wildflowers,
Strokes of purple, blue, and white.
I want to follow your trail
And get lost in your beauty.
I love you, whimsical wildflowers.
I love how your delicate
Petals dance in the wind,
Soft and sensual.
I can’t contain you.
You are wild and free.
You allow me to live in your image.
Your strength to survive and
Withstand the strongest winds
Inspires me, requires me
To stand strong, like you do
In any impossible space.
Let me meet you there
To show me what real beauty is.
standing strong in impossible spaces - love that.. it really is inspiring when you think of it that way.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is as beautiful as the NZ's many flowers, and I'm thinking with
ReplyDeleteyou, "Let me meet you (the flowers) there to show me what real beauty is."
Thank you for lending us one of your nice lines. I enjoy writing of flowers.
..
I love the idea of wildflowers being strong in impossible spaces, resilient and inspiring. You conveyed that message so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, you've excelled yourself in writing to the prompt you inspired!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing just how strong wildflowers are. They look so delicate, yet do withstand wind and harsh growing conditions.
ReplyDelete"you allow me to live in your image" says it all. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteto stand strong, like you do
ReplyDeletein any impossible space
Love your message Marja! It is a long lasting tribute to those who stand firm
to hold on to their conscience.

I love the idea of living in the image of wildflowers--growing wherever it can, and often where not expected--beautiful, resilient, and bright.
ReplyDeleteSo much exuberant joy in this piece!
ReplyDelete"to stand strong, like you do
ReplyDeletein any impossible space"
They are inspirational!
Just beautiful
ReplyDeleteAnother powerful poem Marja, may the wildflowers always bloom. Be well my friend. Hugs Peggy xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Marja - a delightful poem ... strokes of purple, blue and white ... we're now into golden colours with rich greens - lovely - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely poem. Your photo also goes very nicely with your words. I have not had my backyard grass mowed since winter so weeds and wild flowers would grow and feed the bees. Many wildflowers came up.
