The thread that shelters

The prompt for what's going on is fearlessness or courage. This is my call for courage

The thread that shelters

When the world wanders
down a shadowed path,
forgetting the truth you carry within,

when its hands neglect
the pulse of what matters:
the breath of mother earth,
the thread between hearts
sheltering them

Keep your soul!
Let it roam unguarded
through the meadow of its becoming.
Let the mind sharpen,
yet do not let the world
bend you to its iron ways!

Remember the first light you trusted,
how it asked for nothing,
only to be seen
pure.

Imagine that light still holds you.
It lifts what’s real in you.
until it glows where the night
forgets to look.

And from this, courage comes:
the quiet rising,
the steady step forward
into the sunlit room
of your truth.

Yes, yes, wow, what a powerful journey to the inside where courage grows. I like the night, the sunlit room, "the meadow of its becoming." I feel courage is organic in your poem, something that will rise if we let it.

  4. Marja, this is beautiful, and wise. I especially love "Remember the first light you trusted, how it asked for nothing, only to be seen pure." You have so beautifully described the beauty if the natural world and how it has been my solace through everything that happens. Just lovely.

  8. Nature is critical to my well being and always has been. You describe it well. It asks for nothing yet gives so much. Sadly, it is neglected by so many and destroyed by even more.

  9. "Keep your soul!
    Let it roam unguarded
through the meadow of its becoming." I feel this is the key to unlock that sunlit room within. Every word radiates wisdom and truth and to be aware of "the quiet rising" is so liberating. A beautiful poem, Marja.
