Project fence completed

A little fence made by moi. I found a pile of  this wood  made by William to support the fence beams. I turned it into a mini fence. My piece of woodwork provides shadow for the neighbours' kitten who visits us sometimes.

A shadow dance. Play of dark and light

A 36 meter fence made by William It took 17 days last summer holiday to remove a 50 year old Macrocarpa hedge and lots of nights and weekends to build the fence.

In one tree stump now lives a fairy. The door was made by a clever friend.

This butterfly wasn't afraid. She swirled around me and landed so I could take a picture.

Tadaa-----------and here ladies and gentleman is the window I bought on the demolition yard. Surrounded by some leftovers from the fence and decorated with some pots and an old bottle we digged up from the ground.

I found this hook on TradeMe (the NZ Ebay or marktplaats) to hang on some plants in Spring. William oiled it so it doesn't rust quickly.
You can now also clearly see the rope. What happened is that the gaps between the boards were too big. William came up with the idea to fill it with rope . The reason is that when the wood starts working, it won't affect the rope. It also looks good.

The tops still have to be removed before the project is completed, We still want to create a pathway but first we need to fix up two sleeping rooms.

  13. Nice shots of some creative ideas turned into reality. Looks like the kitty approves of your new 'fence'. We came close to having our ficus hedge removed (whitefly infestation) and replaced with a fence but a landscaper was able to restore it to health.
