Gromley statue in Avon river
Meet me in our conversations
"Who are you" her beloved shouted
"Well" she said
"I am the one who lives in your mind
I am a dream matching your believes
I am confirming your ideas
I am the story you wanted to hear
but my story is ever evolving,
keep reading it
keep reading it
your believes might match my dream
My ideas might be your inspiration
as I emerge from the water
My ideas might be your inspiration
as I emerge from the water
and feel the breeze against my skin
Join me under a new horizon
on my travels under the stars
Meet me in our conversations
Meet me in our conversations
I will be me, even if it might mean
becoming a trace in your memory"
LOL...What a girl...what a girl!!I loved her absolutely, Marja!! :) But all this has changed now. We no longer give the art of conversation the respect it is due. Omnipresent and all-pervasive, mobile phones have hijacked even the romantic lives. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteI find this to be very poignant. Sometimes we talk to ourselves unknowingly.. yet we learned much from those
ReplyDeleteThe deeper we go inside our minds, the more stillness there is, yet better understanding!
ReplyDeleteOne who speaks his mind good
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
Hi Marja - so glad you met up with some wonderful people, the statue is just lovely .. while your poem is special ... 'come join me under the stars and travel where our minds and conversations go' - certainly when my mother was ill and confined to bed we had conversations like this ... but our mind needs to be at peace and to wander where it wishes ..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend away ... cheers Hilary
Beautiful reminder! I love the narrative voice coming from inside to outside and the recognition that we sometimes bury this dear love before her time!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem about a deep truth. There is something about fine writing that resonates with the spirit and elicits an emotional response.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to meet a New Zealand poet. Your country is said to be very like coastal British Columbia, very beautiful. I really like "I am a dream matching your beliefs."
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is so very touching ❤️
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thoughts flow here Marja! I love this poem! Enjoy your weekend away from the computer.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of being who the beloved wanted while reminding him/her that change is going to happen is very cool.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!
ReplyDeleteHello, Marja. Thank you for your visit. The "thinking" statue looks perfect for your poem. Love how you capture the inner self, "I am a dream matching your beliefs".
ReplyDeleteIt is important always to be yourself. "Being me" is all we can be if we want to be authentic.
ReplyDeleteYou are a lady of many talents. Have a fun trip away.
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing talent, Marja! Thank you so much for sharing, and your header is beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this poem and the beautiful slide of Franz Joseph, where we also saw the glacier, but sitting in a helicopter.Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteWe are constantly in a state of flux, whether this is caused by our environment or growing more mature, the conversation that we have with others and with ourselves is always inspirational.

Well thought out poem, Marja. How often is it in the falling-out-of-love phase we realise that the person we had loved was in fact a projection of the ideal we had in our mind...
ReplyDeleteThanks spot on on what I was trying to say :)
