Which path do I take?

I have been sort of sick most of the week. I've got something else on my list of ails:Vertigo, a balance problem which causes nausea, dizziness and a headache. It has settled and I am armed now with a few more pills lol So this morning quickly a poem for Poets United, with the prompt path

Which path do I take?
“Which path do I take, master?”

“What do you want to
find at the end?”

“On wealth and power
I have set my mind”
“Choose the path through
concrete jungle
success you will find”
At the end, he wrote
success on every
window of his room
People looked up to it but
it was just a spark in his gloom

“Master I want more,
which path do I take?”

“What do you want to find in the end?"

“I want to feel free,
I want give a part of me”
"Follow the path of mystery
share your riches along the way"
He took this path every day

One day they stole it all,
a dark glow coated his downfall

a lady found him, fed him, cradled him
with love and care in her shanty
which showed him the path of plenty
where you walk under
the weeping willow
listen to the lost and lonely
where the river will
collect the tears
and carries them
to the pastures
to enrich the earth.

This was the day the rain
knocked on his window
the sky broke open, and
wrapped a bow of colours
around a path
starting from his door.

“Master why didn’t you show me that path first”

“Because you didn’t ask for it, my friend”

  2. You are so clever. That is a terrific poem. So sorry to hear you have Vertigo. I get that now and then,it is awful. My doctor told me to go home and watch You Tube videos on the Eply Manoeuvre and then do it. It doesn't always work the first time. I did morning and night for about 2 days and it went away.Try it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw1QciZWfP0

  3. Hi Marja - vertigo sounds horrid - good luck with Diane's idea ... and then getting over it ... all the best.

The poem is wonderful - so clever ... we can all dream of wonders of gold, but the easier, happier path is the simple one ... compassion and peace as we journey along ...

    Cheers Hilary

  7. Lovely, smart poem!
As for Vertigo, try the home remedies first, and only if it doesn't help take the pills given by the doctor. Feel better soon!

    1. Thanks Duta. I have to have approval for home remedies as I am on warfarine. The pills are just to relieve the nausea and stomach acid

  8. Hi Marja. Vertigo is a terrible thing. When I had it a few times this year I went to the doctor's and they examined me several times now. They still don't know what the matter is. Anyway I stopped cycling for fear of falling off my bike again.
You are so clever at poetry! I admire you!

  20. Hope you are feeling better, Marja, vertigo is no fun!
What a wonderful poem! Very philosophical and of course there is so much truth in it. Trouble is, wisdom rarely comes without experience and experience is usually gained with increasing age. Thus mistakes are made, only to be corrected later... Happy are the ones who learn quickly through little experience and become wise soon!
