Childhood home

Childhood Home

Soon I go home to a place
where the smell of soup filled
the air and meatballs filled
the soup. A place where

I bickered with brothers
who ironed out the wrinkles
in my ego and be the
mirror to show that

I am just their sister,
who loved chocolate
too much in a place
where we all knew the

pattern of the wallpaper
hugging the wall, which
didn’t have ears, like our
mother made us believe,

so it can’t tell tales of the past
seen from different angles,
as we used to snuggle in
different nooks of the nest

  1. oh! yes, the good old days spent with family and siblings are memories now. All have flown away to different nests and lands.

  9. Love this.
It is odd what we remember from childhood and I often wonder why I remember specific events that are not tied to specific emotions...

  10. This is so filled with childhood bliss... but I also send that there are bridges back to build. Maybe we all need to spend some time on bridges.

  15. A lovely tribute to home and siblings. I'm so happy my children have each other, since I was an only child. Their lives are richer for their relationships with one another.

There are little corners in the house one may consider a favorite. That perhaps make it to be a home!
