Advice from the Moon
Gazing at the sky,
I realized the stars are too far to reach.
The moon looked through me,
eyes full of my hopes and dreams,
and peeled the clouds away.
Suddenly, my dreams were visible.
I hurried to cover them,
fearing they might burn
lying naked under the sun.
The moon tilted his head
and whispered,
“Don’t worry.
Wear your dreams like perfume
their scent is your soul,
wafting your identity.
It will smell of passion.
It will smell of love.”
This love has the strength
to lift you when you fall,
to carry you
all the way to the Milky Way.
My mood mingled
with earthy musk and honeysuckle
as I misted a little magic
on my wrist,
and let the moon’s guidance
settle softly into my soul.
Gorgeous picture of the moon!
ReplyDeleteThe moon usually has a calming, relaxing effect upon us. Its advice in your poem: "wear your dreams like perfume" is practical as good scent lfts one's soul and spirit.

ReplyDeleteMost of us don't accept and enjoy the wonderful things all around us. Perhaps one day we will realize we are part of the Earth and shouldn't trash it. Sadly that won't be in my time.
