  1. This richly imaginative poem beautifully conveys the transformative power of poetry, though its ornate language sometimes risks overwhelming the emotional core.

  3. I love how you've captured the beauty, power and magic of poetry and what it is. So beautiful, Marja. I also appreciate the line 'Poetry is the strength of a mother'. Mother image is so tender and strong at the same time. Lovely.

  4. "the scent of sacred beauty" I love so many of your images that it was hard to pick just one. Here, the scent of the sacred is stunning. I love that you include Middle Earth. And your lines on the mother are powerful!

  5. How beautiful this poem is. I love the reference to Middle Earth. And especially the stanza about poetry being a portal that opens to the twilight and sacred beauty. This poem does all of that and more. Wonderful writing.

  8. This is exquisitely written, Marja. I love the flow of words and how the essence of what we wish poetry to be is wrapped in the imagery you conjured.

  10. Love this poem, Marja, especially,
    "Poetry is the wine
    in the cup of life
    The potion that opens
    the portals to the twilight,
where the scent of sacred beauty
    lingers above ethereal ponds
    blooming with lotus-laced lines

  15. Hello Marja, this is absolutely beautiful! I am so glad to have found you again! We used to follow each other's blogs when I was at Linda's Peaceful Place. I had no computer for more than 7 years and due to the amount of time that had passed, I lost access to my old blog. I started a new blog at Linda's Relaxing Lair at the end of March (link is in my profile)
I have missed you and your posts as well as your visits and kind comments on my blog.
I wanted to let you know that I am back again and where you can find me.

    Take good care of yourself!

  16. Just hopping over to say a heartfelt thank you for your lovely comment, dear Marja! 💐 It made me smile from start to finish. So nice that our daughters are the same age! And yes, the cocoa ritual was a unique experience. I'm glad you liked the burgundy outfit—it’s one of my favorites! Sending warm spring wishes your way as you head into winter. Arohanui and take care!

P.S. Our weather isn't all that great at the moment either—May has been quite rainy and cool so far. But the farmers are happy, as the rain was much needed after a dry winter. 😊
