To Holland and back

I picked my husband up last week from the Airport. He has spent a couple of weeks with family and friends in Holland. I am happy he was back as most people here went on holiday and all my family is in Holland so that was a bit lonely at times. I had to do study and had just a short holiday, so the time went quickly and I am happy he had a good time overthere and was able to meet up with everybody and thanks to everybody to look so well after him.
Luckily he wasn't long enough there to get too spoilt and he went straight to work in hs vegie garden when he came back. That's how it should be isn't it BeachBum lol  As you see on the picture it was not that bad we also went for a stroll on the beach and had a drink that day. After a break you enjoy each others company again.
Hubby had a white Christmas and had to buy a couple of jerseys as he wasn't poperly dressed for Holland. Luckily he was just in time back before a second cold front came up, in which temperatures would go down to minus 15 C On the news we just saw that it is so bad in Europe that there are lots of traffic problems. In England there were empty shelves in the shops because goods couldn't be delivered. Most people will have enough of the snow and I hope for them that it won't take long anymore.
Same for the heat in Australia as they have temperatures of over 40 C  I guess we are well of here at the moment, were it is mostly between 20 and 30 C eh for a cuple of days. Because of the el ninjo we get rain and cold in between

  1. Traffic is indeed having troubles by the enormous amount of snow on the roads, especially in mountainous areas. Actually it would be necessary to go on snowshoes or on skis if this is going to be normal. Still I don't think we are going to have this every year. I am glad I don't live in a tropical country anymore, for I can't stand great heatwaves like we had in Indonesia. As a child I was always ill, when the temperature was high and the atmosphere was humid. I am glad I live in Europe now! Thanks for your visit! Have a nice week!

  2. Leuke foto's zo naast elkaar. :-) Een verschil van 30° C. Je moet er even aan wennen, maar dan gaat het wel weer.....

  9. Hi Marja, I love your contrasting pictures! I live in the south of England and it's unusual for us to have any snow at all. But right now I'm sick of the sight of the stuff! For several days my car was totally buried and I've had to take several days off work as there was not even any public transport. Right now I'm cold and very fed up!

  12. You have a great blog here. I like checking out travel blogs much like yours at times. I have a blog myself which I hope will be a great resource for those looking to go on vacation. I want everyone to get that "vacation feeling" every time they come to my site. You know what I'm talking about.

I'd like to exchange links with you to help spread some traffic around between each other. Please let me know if this is possible. Until then, keep up the good work.

  14. Hi Marja. I'm new to your blog. I couldn't resist your blog name, Dutch corner. My parents are dutch and I'm always interested in people and things from Holland. I also love New Zealand, even though I've never been there before. I'm also a writer and interested in new ideas and ways of expressing ourselves whether through images, art works or words. It's lovely to meet you and to read some of your posts here.
