The Other Side
At the end of a question
I don’t always find answers,
but I do find doors
to new ways of being.
I wore admiration like silk,
but it frayed in silence.
I feared being unseen,
forgot the sky has no label.
I unbuttoned the world
to find its naked truth,
found the breath between thoughts,
the pause that needs no name.
I touched the space
that quiet beauty beyond self,
where you breathe
air from the other side.
I danced with it,
was moved by it,
witnessed it,
and grew quietly through it
and found myself,
once more,
on the other side of the question.

Wonderful photo and very deep poem! Beautiful!

DeleteToo many “wear admiration like silk.” A little humility is good for all of us. As a complete aside, do you know if the picture was taken at the Bay of Fundy? It sure looks like it.
ReplyDeleteNo It is taken here in NZ in Fox River on the West Coast

ReplyDeleteBeautifully written poetry <3
ReplyDeleteBest regards and I invite you to see my new painting :)
Finding a door at the end of a question is inspiring, equally inspiring is the picture... a glimpse to what lies beyond.
ReplyDeleteQuizzical! Love the photo.
ReplyDeleteLife is kinda like that, as one clarity appears, another one peers at you from the distant tree, I guess it is all about the journey *smiles* and thank you for your beautiful way of writing
ReplyDeleteEr zijn zo veel vragen en vaak weinig antwoorden. Ik kan me helemaal vinden in: 'But I do find doors, to new ways of being.' Wat een veelzeggende foto. Een mensch onderweg naar het licht (-:
ReplyDeleteNiet zomaar een mens haha Dat is mijn William, mijn man
